Had an amazing week here in a lodge at Glentham Grange. Dave and Deb's were so friendly, they left such lovely special touches in the lodge and gave us great ideas for days out. The lodge was immaculately clean and the hot tub topped it all off. 😁 Perfect for a break in the countryside and short drive from Lincoln too.

Firstly, I need to make it clear that Dave and Deb are family, although my visit was the first time we had seen each other for about 17 years. In normal times I would have stayed with them, but due to Covid, we decided it would be better to stay in one of the cottages, so my review is the same as it would be for any other short break. Also, you can see from other reviews that my five stars are well deserved. Firstly, Glentham Grange was very easy to find and was less than two hours drive from Nottinghamshire in Friday rush hour traffic. The first thing that struck me was how peaceful it was. I stayed in Walnut Tree cottage and it really was stunning. It is decorated and furnished to a very high standard and supplied with everything you could need. Again, due to Covid, the hosts have had to omit some things which you may usually expect to find such as salt and pepper etc. The shop stocks most things that you may need though and it is only a short drive to a supermarket. The hot tub w...

A super all mod cons site that is kept immaculate by Dave and Debbie. Well organised and spaced out pitches with water and electric. Showers to die for and kept immaculate .Booked for 4 nights and stayed another 4! Went back a week later for another 4 nights .....it must be good! The owners have put a lot of hard work and thought into this relatively new venture and it shows. Can't wait to go back Chris & Barbara

The feature pond that can be seen from the gravel hard standing pitches, is a haven for birds, and our Muscovy ducks.

As this is a small quiet park,  the additional charges are to maintain the comfort and tranquility of the site for all or guests.

Our new facilities block has been created from restoring farm buildings using the original materials where available. There are ladies & Gents toilets, and separate luxury walk in showers, with free hot water and underfloor heating throughout.  Due to Covid 19 there are some small restrictions on facilities to enable close monitoring.  A fogging machine is used daily which guarantees to kill Covid 19 and all other known viruses and bacteria.

As we have almost 11 acres here social distancing is very easy, and our guests have reported feeling very safe during the Coronovirus pandemic.

Our reception, office and small site shop is now open for your convenience, stocking essentials as well as lovely gift ideas.

We have laundry facilities, with washer and LPG gas dryer.  Great for when you’ve had a hard week at work, and don't want to take all your washing home. Our pot wash area is also in full use with hot running water ( please excuse any chickens that may decide to lay an egg in this area 🐓)

We are happy to have well behaved dogs visit in caravans and motorhomes, but as our chickens and ducks are free range all dogs must be well behaved, on a short lead and supervised at all times.

The wildlife is very special here, and you can often see rabbits, hares , pheasants partridges, as well as an abundance of birds, and our resident barn owls. You can also occasionally spot roe deer walking across the field from the nearby wood.

We are constantly adding to our list of birds you can see, here is our latest list:
Barn owl, Tawny Owl, Little Owl
Blue titGoldfinch, Chaffinch, Bullfinch
Dunnock, Robin, Blackbird, House Sparrow
Hedge Sparrow, Greater spotted woodpecker
Green woodpecker, Fieldfare, Pied wagtail
Yellow wagtail, Yellowhammer, Wren
Swallow, Collared dove, Wood pigeon

We have a breeding pair of barn owls that have been at Glentham Grange for over seven years, and can occasionally be seen at dusk or dawn, and often heard. Many of our guests have been lucky enough to see them much to their delight.

Our chickens ( Cilla, Penny, Poppy, Stella, Cardy B, Ginger, Geraldine, Marmalade, Phoebe, Monica & little Lucy) our cockerel (Freddie) and our ducks (Charlie Drake Doris, Doreen, Dotty, Nelson, Churchill & William and the 14 ducklings) sometimes make a noise, and will probably want to come over and say hello. Please respect them as they are very much part of our family.

We are situated 7 miles from Market Rasen, with its great selection of independent shops, cafes and bars. The race course holds many events throughout the year alongside its race fixtures.

The village of Glentham itself has  a village store, and an attended service fuel station and garage.

The city of Lincoln with its many sights and tourist hot spots including the spectacular cathedral and castle, is 16 miles away.  There are many bars, restaurants and cafes as well as bespoke shopping experiences.  Take a boat trip along the Bradford wharf, or simply sit and relax outside one of the many cafes and bars alongside. There’s something for everyone.

Hemswell Cliff antique centre is 5 miles down the road, and showcases many antique centres, with the widest range in the UK, and Europe's largest selection of dealers. There is also a large Sunday market held there all year round.

Lincolnshire Show ground is less than 15 minutes drive, and hosts a very varied array of shows, music events, markets, and of course the Lincolnshire County Show.

With many great farm shops, and garden centres all within a short distance this is a brilliant base to explore the area.

Gainsborough is a short journey and has several supermarkets, as well as Marshall’s yard shopping area with a lovely range of individual and designer shops , cafes, and a programme of markets and events.

We are a short drive to some beautiful coastal areas, with stunning, often quiet beaches.

Willingham Woods is a short drive and a great place for walking your dog.
